ST JOHN FISHER CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL WIGAN
PRE-APPLICATION PROPOSALS
OVERVIEW OF PLANNING APPLICATION PROPOSALS
A planning application will soon be submitted for the re-development of St John Fisher Catholic High School. The demolition of the older buildings that are being replaced will be phased, minimising any disruption to school operation.
The new main school building will be three storeys and developed on part of the footprint of the existing buildings at the front of the site. The new sports hall building will be two storeys and will be developed on an area of existing playground space which will be relocated.
Existing vehicular access arrangements will be retained from Baytree Road and Springfield Road. Car parking areas within the site will be reconfigured to accommodate the new buildings.
There will be no change to staff and pupil numbers; and during the build process the school will remain fully operational.
This re-development of St John Fisher Catholic High School is funded by the Department for Education as part of their School Rebuilding Programme.
Wates Construction has been selected by the Department for Education to design and build the new buildings. Wates is a national construction company with lots of experience of building schools.
